ST CUTHBERT’S CHURCH, KILDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

A most attractive framed commemorative list of Kildale people has been made for St Cuthbert’s Church to commemorate the Millennium and it now hangs in the tower.

It is not an exhaustive list but amongst the 200 names are most tenants of the farms in the time that the Kildale Estate has been in the hands of the Turton/Sutcliffe family, from 1806 to the present day.  More recent names show a wider involvement than merely farm tenancies.

If you visit the Church do also look at the Millennium Window which shows St Cuthbert surrounded by people of Kildale, local scenes, flora and fauna.

Thanks are due to Val Anthony of Kildale for supplying details of the commemorative list.
